Women's exclusive brand calls on Nike to 'Just do it'

Thursday was declared "Real Women's Day" by a girls' sports advocacy group and fashion company. In honor of the day, the company challenged the largest sports brand in the world.

XX-XY Athletics is a women's athletic apparel manufacturer and says it unapologetically exists to protect women's sports and spaces from sexually confused men who intrude as they claim to be women. So, on Oct. 10 – XX in Roman numerals – the company released an ad challenging Nike, the world's largest sports brand, to join the fight.

The audio for the ads includes numerous unidentified female voices from young girls to women.

“Dear Nike, dear Nike, dear Nike. Why won't you stand up for me? Why won't you stand up for me? Why won't you?”

It would definitely be a 180 degree turn for them. One of Nike's slogans is ‘No Pride, No Sport,’ meaning they think sports without the LGBT community is incomplete.

“Today males are claiming our identity, our sports, our spaces. Men and boys are stealing opportunities, medals, trophies, and our future,” the XX-XY ad states.

The danger of men in women's sports

XX-XY says women's sport is dangerously compromised when men are allowed to compete.

“You say you're for social justice and progress. So, why do you allow men's rights to come before ours? See, with a big platform comes an even bigger responsibility,” the ad says.

The group, by highlighting one of Nike’s most recognizable slogans, is asking the giant shoe and apparel producer to do the right thing.

“So we're asking you, Nike… So, we're asking you Nike… So, we're asking you Nike, as the biggest voice in all of sports, will you stand up for me? Will you stand up for me? Will you stand up for me? Will you stand up for me? Will you? Will you? Will you just do it?”
