Fox News reports that officials in the SPEC office sought to discuss key agenda items as recently as December with non-governmental organizations like the Sierra Club and the United Nations Foundation, according to documents obtained by government watchdog Protect the Public’s Trust (PPT).
Geologist Gregory Wrightstone of Arlington, Virginia-based CO2 Coalition – "the nation's leading organization providing facts, resources, and information about the vital role carbon dioxide plays in our environment" – is not surprised.
"They have been joined at the hip for many years, going back many decades, with all the National Resources Defense Council and many of these pro-man-made [global] warming catastrophic proponents, and [Kerry's] been almost a mouthpiece for these groups," Wrightstone reports.
No matter the group, he says they only focus on potential negative consequences of perceived man-made warming.
"And they're relying on climate models that overpredict warming two and a half to three times too much and do not look at any of the many positive benefits of modest warming and increased CO2," the geologist continues. "The earth has warmed a little less than one degree Celsius since 1900, which is not too alarming. Sea levels have risen about eight inches since 1900 – a little bit above your ankles."
He reiterates that the SPEC and the left-leaning groups with which it consults are using failed climate models and are "spreading disinformation."
Meanwhile, no one from the Biden administration has contacted the CO2 Coalition.
"We're not sitting by the phone waiting for their call," Wrightstone asserts. "That call is not coming."
He says that is because the left wants to silence and stifle any science that disputes the notion of CO2-driven harmful warming.
"We are silenced by shadow banning on social media, by having our LinkedIn account closed, and my own personal LinkedIn account permanently closed," Wrightstone relays. "They are more akin to stifling science than promoting any science that they do not agree with."
