'Littlest missionary' takes on major world missions challenge

A pro-life ministry has come up with a small but mighty way to save babies from abortion.

PassionLife President John Ensor, a pastor, recently told American Family Radio (AFR) the medically accurate Tiny Baby© fetal model of a human in its ninth week of development teaches pregnant women about the child that is in their womb.

He said this tool is much needed throughout the world.

"The United States only accounts for about 3% of global abortion on an annual basis," Ensor reported. "That means that 97% of the moral crisis of abortion is a world missions challenge."

After working in the states and starting pregnancy centers using ultrasound, Ensor and others started to work in other countries about a decade ago.

They began training up the Church to start its own version of the pregnancy clinic that would include ultrasound and the Tiny Baby, what they sometimes call "the littlest missionary."

"We had this Tiny Baby designed because we were struggling with how to help people in Vietnam or Columbia or Cuba immediately have the strength and the resources they needed to say, 'This is what your baby looks like. Let me help you find God's provision,'" Ensor relays.

The Tiny Baby is helping PassionLife's pro-life efforts in Asia, Africa, Latin America, and Eastern Europe – places where abortion is concentrated.

Its creation started with anatomical models created by 3D artists in consultation with medical professionals. Numerous design changes were made as Tiny Baby was evaluated by OB/GYN doctors and ultrasound technicians. Final tests included inserting Tiny Baby into a sonographic gel and measuring using ultrasound.
