The noticeable shift from choice to 'need'

A pro-lifer says the so-called pro-choice movement appears to be a thing of the past.

Marking the two-year anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization, which overturned the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision, the Biden campaign released this statement yesterday:

Two years ago today, Donald Trump's Supreme Court majority ripped away the fundamental freedom for women to access the health care they need and deserve. The consequences have been devastating: in states across the country, Trump's allies have enacted extreme and dangerous abortion bans — many with no exception for rape or incest – that are putting women's lives at risk and threatening doctors with jail time.

Donald Trump is the sole person responsible for this nightmare. For him, these cruel state bans are a 'beautiful thing to watch' – and they're just beginning. This is a man who brags about overturning Roe v. Wade, has called for women who access reproductive health care to be punished — and says he would rule as a dictator on day one. If given the chance, there is no question he will ban abortion nationwide, with or without the help of Congress. You don't have to take my word for it – his advisors have already laid out the plans to do it.

I will never let that happen. Everywhere I go, I hear from people who are worried about the state of reproductive health care in America. My message to Americans is this: Kamala and I are fighting … to get your freedom back. And we won't stop until we restore the protections of Roe v. Wade for every woman in every state.

Considering that both Biden and Harris have been, in her words, "rabid proponents of abortion throughout their administration," Carol Tobias of National Right to Life was not surprised by the statement, with its many inaccuracies.

She did, however, notice something missing from it.

Tobias, Carol (NRLC) Tobias

"What struck me in this statement, and I have been noticing that for the abortion industry at large, is that they no longer talk about choice," she relays. "It used to be the pro-choice movement, that women should be able to have choices. That has disappeared. They are now talking that women need to have abortions; they don't want choice."

To that end, abortion supporters are trying to shut down pregnancy resource centers and other pro-life efforts.

"They are trying to block them from search engines so women cannot find them when they are looking for help with an unexpected or unplanned pregnancy," Tobias notes. "They are trying to get the Federal Trade Commission to label them as deceptive and shut down the pregnancy centers. They do not want abortion pill reversal."

In other words, the Left does not want pregnant women to have access to real healthcare or to knowledge about abortion pill reversal, which can save babies' lives.
