A recent undercover investigation by Project Veritas revealed management at the Kansas City Planned Parenthood admitting to trafficking minors from Missouri into Kansas for an abortion without parents being made aware of it. According to Project Veritas, when asked how frequently her clinics arrange interstate abortion transport for minors without parental consent, the managing director of KC Planned Parenthood replied with a laugh: "Every day."
And the services commonly offered to those minors, said the managing director, include setting up hotels, providing doctor's notes to the child's school, and even paying for the abortion.
Susan Klein of Missouri Right to Life quotes the Missouri attorney general, Andrew Bailey.
"[He said] what Planned Parenthood is doing is a 'direct violation of Missouri law' and [that he] is going to take legal action against Planned Parenthood and what they are doing to undermine parental rights and parental authority, parental knowledge to be involved with what is happening with their minor daughters," she tells AFN.
Planned Parenthood has successfully sued the state to reverse defunding the organization, and the outcome of one more legal case is pending – but the Missouri pro-lifer says Bailey offered some hope to the legislature.
"The attorney general's statement also said now is the time to permanently defund Planned Parenthood in the state of Missouri – and he said he would defend that legislation as well," says Klein.
Bailey has not stated what specific action he intends to take against what he calls the "abhorrent, unethical, and illegal behavior" of the abortion chain, but he does plan to reveal that at a future date not yet determined.
