If approved, House Bill 1786 will prohibit Pennsylvania public officials, including judges, from cooperating with a pro-life state that seeks redress for harm.
"Women would not be able to seek justice from an abortionist or from some other health provider who hurts them," explains Maria Gallagher of the Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation. "We just think that this is just a terrible piece of legislation, and it could be truly harmful for the people of the entire country."
The bill, which she calls an effort to protect the abortion industry, could also attract the worst of the worst abortionists to Pennsylvania.
The state House has already approved it.
"Thankfully, Republican leadership in the Pennsylvania Senate is pro-life, and we're hoping that those pro-life members stick to their beliefs and their values and they put a stop to this dreadful piece of legislation," Gallagher tells AFN.
They argue that the measure violates the U.S. Constitution's "Full Faith and Credit Clause" that calls for states to recognize the validity of other states' laws.
