Pro-life group hit by cyberattack but vows to keep fighting

A pro-life physicians group has a good idea why it was targeted in a cyberattack and takes it as a compliment the other side was feeling the heat.

Dr. Jill Simmons, executive director of the American College of Pediatricians, says the cyberattack was intended to intimidate the organization but it failed.

“It's not going to silence us,” she vows. “We're going to continue doing our work.”

Authorities are investigating, including the FBI, so Simmons says she can’t comment on a possible source of the attack or details about the investigation. But she has an idea why the pro-life group was targeted.

“Since our recent involvement as a plaintiff in the FDA case on mifepristone, the abortion pill,” she explains, “we have received an incredible up-tick in hate mail, and other sorts of comments, on our web site and contact forms.”

The attack has been very costly and American College of Pediatricians is currently raising money to pay for the damage.
