Local pro-lifers have informed Operation Rescue that ambulances frequent the Planned Parenthood in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. As an example, a 911 call was made on March 24th for a 36-year-old woman.
"This patient is on her third D&E, and all we've done is given the dilator," the clinic employee explains in the recording obtained by Operation Rescue. "She's had about 400 (likely mL) of blood out, so we cannot manage her ongoing bleeding here, and we can't do her procedure."
In a dilation and evacuation (D&E) abortion, which is usually performed in the second trimester, the abortionist removes the baby's limbs until the child bleeds to death, and then any remaining tissue is evacuated.
Eight days later, the clinic called for an ambulance again, this time for a 31-year-old patient.
"We have a patient here that was here for an abortion procedure," the employee tells the dispatcher. "We are having to transfer her to UNC Hospital for bleeding."
That was the clinic's third emergency for abortion-related injuries in two months; a fourth woman was transported a year ago for the same reason.
Whether North Carolina will investigate is unknown, but as far as Operation Rescue is concerned, such clinics are clearly not equipped to deal with the serious complications that often result from abortions.
