The latest statistics from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control caught the attention of Eric Scheidler of Pro-Life Action League. He says black women are 13% of the population but the CDC admits they account for 40% of abortions.
“It's getting close to half,” he says of that grim statistic. “Abortion is decimating the African-American community in the United States right now.”
Even worse than the disproportionate numbers, Scheidler says, is the fact many of those black women do not support abortion, but many are also poor and feel they have no other choice but aborting a child.
“These are unwanted abortions,” he stresses.
Pro-life activists such as Scheidler also haven’t forgotten the history of Planned Parenthood itself, which started as the American Birth Control League by Margaret Sanger (pictured at left). The cold-blooded nurse and eugenicist, who died in 1966, famously looked down on the poor, the sickly, and the disabled, and she supported forced sterilization to improve the human race.
Abortion-rights activists defended Sanger for years against accusations of racism, arguing some of her statements are invented or taken out of context, but her support for eugenics proved too much. She was denounced in 2020 and many clinics dropped her name.
