China-owned TikTok has banned the account of Students for Life of America for footage of the organization's president, Kristan Hawkins, giving a speech on the campus of the University of Texas at San Antonio.
"We were banned for multiple company guideline violations," reports Students for Life spokeswoman Caroline Wharton. "We weren't given any warning, and no message or email was sent to us on how to appeal this ban. We were also stripped of 35,000 followers from our account, so you could say that we were tried and found guilty without a trial."
The video (below) shows a pro-abortion student losing an argument with Hawkins, who consistently reminded the student that she had scientific fact on her side.
"Science tells us [life] begins at conception," Wharton notes. "The pro-life movement believes that. The abortion lobby -- they don't have an answer, so they looked really bad. So this really was a classic case of if you can't beat them, shut them up; if you can't beat them, ban them."
TikTok is the only social media platform to ban Students for Life for posting the video. Wharton calls it censorship in its purest form.
