Pastor Joseph Parker, director of outreach and intercession for the American Family Association, says he will be one of many representatives from a number of pro-life organizations at the Priests for Life event outside the Supreme Court on Saturday.
"I'll have the opportunity to be one of a number of speakers to speak on the issues of life," Parker continues. "Specifically, I think one of the goals would be probably very much so to help continue the momentum that's going on that will I believe help end Roe v. Wade or bring Roe v. Wade down."
Saturday's event will look to build off of today's March for Life events in Washington, D.C. According to Parker, those who are unable to make the trip to the capital can still be of assistance.
"Your prayers are very important," he asserts. "I believe some of the greatest rewards in Heaven will be from people who were intercessors, whether they got to travel to events like this or not. Any believer can pray for God to anoint and use these events to help bring Roe v. Wade to an end."
While he recognizes that many Americans think abortion ought to remain legal, Pastor Parker, who also hosts "The Hour of Intercession" on American Family Radio, encourages people to consider what the Bible has to say about the issue.
"One of the Ten Commandments is you shall not murder," he notes. "Murder is taking innocent life, and, of course, I don't know if you can find life any more innocent than a baby in a womb."
The Ten Commandments are found in Exodus 20 and Deuteronomy 5. Parker also points to Proverbs 24:11-12 and Proverbs 31:8-9 and says those are just a few of the many scriptures "that bear out the fact that the Word of God clearly opposes abortion."
