Operation Rescue has obtained copies of the dispatch records regarding ambulance calls for two patients who aborted their babies at Northland Family Planning in Southfield, Michigan.
"One of the women was 22-weeks pregnant, and she suffered a dangerous hemorrhage," Operation Rescue spokeswoman Cheryl Sullenger reports. "She had a low blood pressure, and her dispatch was a critical dispatch. They needed to get her to the hospital as soon as possible."
The second woman was transferred to an emergency room and treated for less serious injuries.
Considering these cases and the botched abortions that have sent at least two other women to the hospital in the recent past, Sullenger suggests the clinic is not the kind of place the Northland Family Planning website describes.
"It tries to say it's a safe place for women," the pro-lifer relays. "We don't think it's that safe when at least four women that we know about have been transported with horrific abortion injuries."
Even so, Operation Rescue is not convinced any action will be taken.
"Michigan is a place where enforcement of patient care standards and abortion clinic rules have been uneven at best," Sullenger tells American Family News.
Nevertheless, complaints have been filed with appropriate state authorities.
