Noting the Democrats' difficulties in supporting Israel, Senator John Thune (R-South Dakota) has promised "our allies in Israel" and the Jewish people around the world that "reinforcements are on the way."
"Senate Republicans reclaim the majority in six weeks, and when we do, we will make clear that the United States Congress stands squarely in Israel's corner," he declared Tuesday in Washington, D.C.
Jan Markell of Olive Tree Ministries responded on American Family Radio by saying that is "such a change" from the current administration and Senate leaders.
"A lot of American evangelicals can breathe a sigh of relief," she said. "They certainly assisted in this election by turning out and voting for freedom and not tyranny."
She believes Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other Israelis are breathing a sigh of relief as well.
"I think it's 60-70% of Israelis are very pro-Trump, and for obvious reasons," Markell told the "Today's Issues" program. "His first term were incredible years as U.S.-Israeli relations go, and Israel wants to return to that; they want to get away from the insanity of the way they've been treated here for four years now with the current administration."
In his speech Tuesday, Thune also called on current Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-New York) to do something about the International Criminal Court going after Israel and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
"I think these people in The Hague know better, but they're following who knows what," Markell said. "Maybe Satan."
