Rep. Cory Mills, a congressman from Florida, says the President deserves to be impeached after threatening Israel over its ongoing war against Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
AFN reported recently the Biden administration has admitted it is withholding munitions – already approved by Congress – to demand the IDF retreat from the city of Rafah, the final Hamas stronghold.
In a statement, Mills said Biden’s threat against Israel and the IDF is the same accusation made against President Trump and his threat to Ukraine’s government, which led to his impeachment by Democrats.
"The House has no choice but to impeach President ‘Quid pro Joe’ Biden,” Mills said in a statement. “As Vice President, Biden was caught threatening to withhold funding and aid to Ukraine unless they fired the attorney general investigating Burisma, a company financially benefiting his son Hunter, not to mention the 10% share for 'the big guy' himself.”
Robert Knight, a columnist for The Washington Times, tells AFN a president is impeached for violating his oath and betraying his country.
“Not funding a foreign country, to me, doesn't rise to that level,” Knight says.
That doesn’t mean Biden doesn’t deserve to be impeached, however. His impeachment, Knight says, could cite Biden’s “abandonment” of the U.S. southern border, harming the U.S. energy supply, and cowering to the Chinese Communist Party.
“I think those are all impeachable offenses,” Knight says. “I'm not sure withholding aid to Israel is. I don't like it but I don't think it meets that standard."
An impeachment of Biden in the U.S. House would be stopped in the U.S. Senate by Chuck Schumer, Knight points out. So the better option for House Republicans, he observes, is to use their “power of the purse” to threaten Democrats by withholding budget funds until the southern border is secured.
