Three days after the 2016 presidential election, Google employees and management got together to console each other following Hillary Clinton's defeat. CEO Sundar Pichai vowed to never let something like a Trump victory ever happen again.
Pichai: "You know, we are definitely in the role, it's our core mission to help users discover information from many, many places where we are ranking, we are algorithmically doing stuff. So over time, understanding some of the things that are happening and course-correcting."
Fast forward to 2023 and, according to Dan Schneider of MRC's Free Speech America, Google is being true to its word. MRC reported on Wednesday the following results when its researchers broadly searched for "presidential campaign websites" as well as two additional searches specifying the party affiliation of the candidates:
"… When [our] researchers searched 'democrat presidential campaign websites,' the tech giant pushed its Democratic party darlings right to the top. Google had no problem finding President Joe Biden's campaign website, which appeared as the first search result. [Marianne] Williamson's website similarly appeared as the second result. However, Biden's most formidable challenger in the primary, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s website was notably missing."
"When MRC searched for 'republican presidential campaign websites,' only two candidates' websites appeared on the first page in the search results – a Democrat candidate [Marianne Williamson] and a Republican who is polling at less than half a percent [Will Hurd]."
According to MRC, nowhere on the first page of search results were the campaign websites for Donald Trump, Ron DeSantis, Vivek Ramaswamy, Nikki Haley, Mike Pence, Tim Scott, or Chris Christie anywhere. Schneider tells AFN that it matters.
"The evidence shows that Google is swaying anywhere up to, like, eight million votes in America for the Democrat nominee, whoever that might be," he states.
Google even has its artificial intelligence chatbot Bard in on the grift. "For Democrats, they simply said Joe Biden is the candidate," Schneider explains. "When Bard ranked the Republicans, they never even mentioned Vivek Ramaswamy."
Schneider describes the search results as "outrageous," adding: "Google is either the most incompetent search engine on the planet, or it's intentional. This is not a coincidence."
Poll showing Trump in lead is an 'outlier'
While Google may not recognize any other candidates besides Joe Biden, a recent poll shows the American public clearly does – and Democrats are trying to downplay the poll's results.
The latest Washington Post/ABC News poll isn't good news for President Biden. It finds him trailing former President Donald Trump by ten points (52-42) in a head-to-head matchup. The poll was such a shock that the Post suggested it was "an outlier."
Gary Bauer, chairman of the Campaign for Working Families, was amused by the Left's reaction.
"It was funny to watch ABC and the Washington Post downplay the results of their own poll because it showed President Trump with a significant lead," he tells AFN. "I must point out, however, that the poll is of U.S. adults – not registered voters, not likely voters. So, I don't put as much credence in a poll where that is the sample as I do when the polling is of 'likely' voters."
And Bauer points out that among "disinterested" or "unlikely" voters – folks who didn't vote in 2020 – Trump leads Biden 63% to 27%. He is hopeful the Republican National Committee has a plan to get those voters to the polls next year.
