On Thursday, the Republican-controlled Wisconsin Senate followed the recommendation of the elections committee and voted 22-11 to fire Wisconsin Elections Commission Administrator Meagan Wolfe, rather than recommend her for a second term. The move came following reports of many irregularities with Wolfe in charge, including that she oversaw what many contend was a fraudulent 2020 Wisconsin presidential election result.
Steve McConkey is a spokesman for Freedom Up North, which lobbied for Wolfe's removal. He expects there will now be a legal battle.
"This thing with Meagan Wolfe could end up in the Wisconsin Supreme Court and [could possibly] go all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court … because they've got some liberal people inside that Wisconsin Elections Commission," he tells AFN. "So, there's a real battle going on, and who knows which direction that's going to go."
Still, McConkey is optimistic the high court will rule in their favor. "[But] we've really got to keep pushing – and we've got to overwhelm this voting, so they can't throw it," he adds.
Despite winning 62 of the 72 counties in Wisconsin in 2020, Trump still lost Wisconsin by approximately 20,600 votes – along with the state's 10 electoral votes.
