An Internal Revenue Service whistleblower has come forward alleging that both the IRS and the Justice Department are providing preferential treatment to a "politically connected subject," widely assumed to be Hunter Biden.
Gary Bauer, chairman of the Campaign for Working Families, explains the attorney for the whistleblower describes his client as a fairly high-level official in the IRS.
"The IRS whistleblower has really got some meat on the bone," Bauer tells AFN. "He's written a letter to both Republican and Democrat leaders in the appropriate committees. He says that he's got a variety of proof, including various receipts, and is asking to testify before Congress. So, this could be if it holds up a really big deal."
And Bauer says the whistleblower also contends that an unidentified "senior political appointee" misled Congress about the investigation.
"He believes from what he has seen that a very high-ranking official in the Biden administration may very well have perjured himself while testifying and answering questions on Capitol Hill," he adds. "Media outlets that claim to have some inside information believe that he is referring to the Attorney General of the United States." That would be Merrick Garland.
Responding to this breaking news, House Oversight Committee chairman James Comer tweeted: "The Biden administration may be obstructing justice by blocking efforts to charge Hunter Biden for tax evasion."
Bauer pointed out on Thursday that almost immediately after the 2020 election, Hunter Biden admitted that he was under criminal investigation. "But nothing has happened in the years since … and we all know why," he wrote.
