“Now that we are heading into the pregame season for the 2024 election, it's no surprise that they're trying to take out Biden,” radio talk show host Jenna Ellis, a former attorney for Donald Trump, told American Family Radio this week.
That possibility has been raised by others, too, especially after prominent Democrats have turned on Biden and the reliably liberal media, such as The Associated Press, is asking if his political future has “veered into more uncertain territory.”
“Democrats and the country as a whole would be much better off this year and next if he’s not running for president,” Norman Soloman, a Democrat activist who runs the Don’t Run Joe Campaign, conveniently told the AP for its Jan. 13 story.
"Nothing you see is real," Jesse Kelly, the Texas-based radio show host, often advises his audience about the media.
A drip-drip-drip of more documents
After a predicted “red wave” failed to materialize on Election Day, Biden and Democrats took a victory lap over what was a red ripple. But now Biden’s political future is suddenly uncertain after CBS News reported Jan. 9 that 10 classified documents were found in a closet, in November, at the Penn Biden Center from Biden’s time as vice president. Then came the revelation days later that Biden also stored classified documents in his garage at his Wilmington, Delaware home.
Then came a drip-drip-drip of more documents, none of them legal for Biden to personally possess, that are being discovered in more places by more attorneys digging through drawers.
According to Ellis, the timing is important because Biden has said publicly he is running for re-election.
“He has said he is going to announce his re-election campaign even as early as next month,” Ellis told the “Today’s Issues” program. “So now this has put kind of a halt on that. And it’s not going away.”
Indeed, the knives have come out seemingly from everywhere.
“Why should the American people believe that this president takes classified material seriously, and the handling of it?” Mary Bruce, an ABC News correspondent, asked the White House press secretary this week.
Over at Fox News, where Biden is a constant target, Tucker Carlson told his audience that CNN criticizing Biden over the document scandal, and MSNBC pointing out his age and criticizing the Afghanistan debacle, is like the College of Cardinals criticizing the Pope.
“It’s a violation of ecclesiastical authority. You never see it,” Carlson observed. “And when it happens, it means something.”
According to Ellis, the public can expect to see Biden removed as a 2024 contender by those wielding power behind the scenes. But that's just the first step, she says, since that puts Vice President Kamala Harris as a "place holder" president.
"And then, through the constitutional process," Ellis predicts, "nominate the vice president, which is who they actually want to run in 2024."
