"This new figure,” says David Williams, president of the Taxpayers Protection Alliance, “shows that Biden was incorrect in saying that his first year was a success.”
According to CNS News, the federal debt stood at $27.7 trillion on January 20, 2021. As of January 18 last week, it jumped to $29.8 trillion.
The national debt could have jumped even more, Williams says, if Democrats in Congress had passed their super-expensive “Build Back Better” bill.
"Just because the Build Back Better bill is dead, they could still pass pieces of it in upcoming spending bills and other pieces of legislation,” he tells American Family News. “And that would make this number, the $20,000 number, even worse for taxpayers and households.”
Echoing the worrisome predictions and warnings of many, Williams says Congress must get its “fiscal house in order” and quit ignoring this serious issue.
