Rep. Massie sues Pelosi over deducting fines from paycheck

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi vowed to find lawmakers for not wearing a mask on the House floor, and followed through on that threat, but Republican lawmakers are suing over her fine-demanding methods.

Ignoring the fact Nancy Pelosi herself has walked onto the floor without a mask, lawmakers face a $500 fine for a first offense and a $2,500 fine if they do it twice. Because those fines are being deducted from the lawmakers’ paychecks, Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) is leading an effort to sue her.

“She's either not very smart or doesn't have good lawyers,” Massie told Fox News, “because she's violated the 27th Amendment to the Constitution: We can't change our own salaries.”

Rep. Massie is joined in the lawsuit by fiery freshman Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Rep. Ralph Norman of Oklahoma.

Massie said Pelosi doesn’t wear a mask when she’s sitting in the Speaker’s Chair and recalled she advised President Biden, when he appeared in the House, he was not required to wear a mask.

“She's just making this up as she goes,” Massie complained.
