Iran's foreign minister came on U.S. soil Thursday and threatened to retaliate against America if the war in Israel continues. During his speech at the United Nations in New York, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian left no doubt about who he holds responsible for the ongoing war in Israel:
Amir-Abdollahian: "I say frankly to the American statesmen who are now managing the genocide in Palestine …. I warn, if the genocide in Gaza continues, they will not be spared from this fire."
Republican presidential candidate Sen. Tim Scott told Fox News it's not the first time such a threat was issued from the floor of the U.N. "We've had the president of Iran on our soil, calling for the death of members of President Trump's administration," he points out to Fox's Bill Hemmer.
The South Carolina senator argued there needs to be a strong and kinetic response.
"We should never say when we're going to do it," he explained, "but without any question, there should be targets in Iran that we have already chosen to tell Iran a clear message: 'You threaten our lives, it will cost you yours as well.'"
Republicans have been very critical of the Biden administration for what they see as funding Iran's terror regime to the tune of billions of dollars over the years. Scott says the only way to talk to terror is with power.
"We can see Iran's fingerprints, on this war, and the blood from Americans and Israelis are on their hands. The consequences must be steep," Scott emphasized.
