During a recent appearance on the Fox News Channel, former Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard (pictured above) blasted President Joe Biden's immigration policies, saying they have serious humanitarian and national security consequences.
Gabbard, who vacated her seat as U.S. Representative of the Second Congressional District of Hawaii this year, was especially appalled by a video showing drug cartels firing at National Guard troops from across the border in Mexico.
"These drug cartels, these human traffickers -- they are incredibly emboldened to the point where they feel that they can do this without consequence," she told Fox News. "They feel that they can continue profiting off of trafficking people across these borders that are essentially open."
Gabbard also pointed out that actions speak louder than words.
"The fact is that the open-door policy that this administration has in place is creating a humanitarian crisis as well a very serious security threat for our country," she declared.
In Gabbard's view, Biden's administration disrespects the American people.
"It's why people are losing faith and trust in those leaders," she asserts. "If we have leaders who respect the people, then the people will respect our leaders. If we have people who trust the American people, we will trust our leaders."
But that kind of structure is not what she currently sees at play.
