In partnership with the European Commission, the World Health Organization (WHO) voted earlier this month to move ahead with digital health certificates – aka "digital health passports." Such certificates would contain a person's medical records and police an individual's travel if he or she doesn't meet certain health requirements.
Talking about this on American Family Radio last week, Jan Markell – founder and president of Olive Tree Ministries and host of "Understanding the Times" radio program – argued the digital health passports are a part of the cashless society being created.
"It's really kind of apocalyptic, but that's not why we're reporting on it," she explained. "We're reporting on it because eventually, if the Lord tarries, all of us could be implementing this."
Markell admitted what troubles her most is the agency that will oversee the health passports.
"… The outfit over all of this would be the World Health Organization," she noted. "Well, they don't get much more corrupt than the World Health Organization and [it's director-general] Dr. Tedros [Adhanom Ghebreyesus]."
Markell pointed out the WHO tried to implement the passports in 2022 but is now talking about implementing them this summer.
As reported by the WHO, digital health certificates would be the first "building block" of its Global Digital Health Certification Network – which is built on what it calls the European Union's "highly successful" system of digital COVID-19 test and vaccine certificates. Those certificates "set a global standard" not only in the fight against the pandemic, but also "facilitated international travel and tourism" – according to a commissioner with the European Commission.
