In response to the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) lowering its recommended age for administering cross-sex hormones from age 16 to 14 and conducting mastectomies to age 15, Dr. Michelle Cretella of Advocates Protecting Children says to follow the money.
"In terms of drug sales and surgeries, hundreds of millions of dollars around the world [are] the primary driving factor of those at the top of that organization," she tells AFN.
As The Post Millennial notes, WPATH "sets international guidelines and protocols for the medical process of gender transition." And although the new guidelines have not been finalized and released, many medical organizations are already abiding by them. For example, Boston Children's Hospital, whose pediatric surgery center boasts of treating over 1,000 families, explicitly cites their implementation of WPATH guidelines.
Dr. Cretella, a pediatrician and executive director of the American College of Pediatricians, adds that educators and teacher organizations like the National Education Association (NEA) also play a big role in promoting sex-change drugs and operations.
"The American Library Association is, as they have been for decades, backing the entire sexual revolution," Dr. Cretella relays, saying they are "huge pushers of contraception for kids and abortion for kids without parental consent."
WPATH, which is the leading trade group for transgender surgeons and doctors, and other pro-transgender organizations like the Endocrine Society and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) are being cited as experts by large hospitals, Democrats, and the Biden administration, which wants to deliver the drugs to troubled children.
Meanwhile, as more becomes known about the dangers, Breitbart reports that European countries are backing away from these treatments for teens and children.
