First the L.A. Times, then the New York Times, now USA Today parent publisher Gannett have decided not to endorse a candidate for president.
Gannett owns more than 200 daily newspapers.
The daughter of the L.A. Times owner indicated that even Kamala Harris' tepid support of Israel in the Hamas war is a red line.
The Post said it was going back to tradition – it didn't start regularly endorsing candidates until 1976. In a statement Gannett said, ‘we believe America's future is decided locally – one race at a time."
American Family Radio host Jenna Ellis isn't buying any of that.
“I think this tells you very clearly just how bad of a candidate Kamala Harris actually is, because these are the same, part of the same publications that very enthusiastically, previously, had endorsed Barack Obama, Joe Biden,” she told AFN.
Ellis says everyone loves a winner, but a loser stands alone.
“I don't particularly think that someone like Jeff Bezos is all that principled, in terms of his journalistic integrity or anything like that. I think that it's more they don't want to be caught endorsing a candidate that, at least how the polls are showing, is not going to perform all that well.”
The Washington Post lost some 200,000 subscribers within 24 hours of refusing to endorse Kamala Harris.
“Consumers of media don't actually believe in the lack of bias in journalism anymore, and they don't want a lack of bias,” Ellis said.
As usual, Harris blames Trump
For her part, Kamala Harris is blaming Donald Trump for losing the endorsements.
“You know, Charlemagne, it's disappointing, no doubt, but look, it's billionaires and Donald Trump's club,” the vice president said.
… which is kind of like blaming your opponent for kicking a 50-yard game-winning field goal – that's kind of his job.
