Musk allowing free speech on Twitter 'mayhem' to wild-eyed Leftists

A free speech advocate says it’s very telling to witness the Far Left melt down over Twitter’s new top boss, Elon Musk, who is vowing to clamp down on left-wing censorship and make the social media site more free and more open for right-wing views.

Media Research Center spokesman Joseph Vasquez, who leads the Free Speech America initiative, says Musk intends to defend free speech and allow opinions the Left has managed to keep hidden from public view.

“That’s mayhem to them,” he tells AFN.

Twitter is infamous for its shadowy left-wing tech employees deciding what is true and what is “misinformation” about COVID-19 shots and election fraud, or over what is a biological man or woman as parody site Babylon Bee learned after being suspended in May. It had named Rachel Levine, a biological man, "Man of the Year."

Twitter’s most famous censorship to date is banning then-President Donald Trump, but other names permanently banned include Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Steve Bannon, Mike Lindell, and British activist Katie Hopkins.

Back in May, the guerilla journalists at Project Veritas busted a Twitter senior engineer who described the culture at the time Musk was expected to purchase the company.

“He’s a capitalist, and we weren’t really operating as capitalists, more like very socialist,” the engineer, Siru Murugesan, says.  “We’re all like Commie as [expletive].”

Regarding the censorship of right-wing views, the engineer admitted those views are punished.

“We’re actually censoring the right and not the left,” he said at one point.

As recently as August, Twitter announced a Civic Integrity Policy that vowed to crack down on “misleading” claims about voting and election fraud leading up to the midterm elections.

The left-wing meltdown so far, compiled in an MRC article, is something to behold: “White supremacists” will enjoy more freedom to harass blacks; Musk could push the world into World War 3; the flow of “disinformation” will now increase which will benefit Vladimir Putin.

In a down-is-up comment, technology writer Mike Masnick mourned Musk’s firing of Twitter executive Vijaya Gadde, who was behind the banning of Trump from the website.

“People do not realize how much Vijaya did for free speech,” Masnick wrote. “Twitter is less of a free speech platform without her.”

Vasquez says the Far Left hasn’t learned to respect and defend free speech and probably never will.

“They’re going to continue banging this drum,” he predicts, “because they tasted power in 2020. They’re going to keep on doing that: trying to silence free speech. This is what they do.”

Reacting to Musk's ownership of Twitter, longtime conservative activist Gary Bauer says the billionaire is no social conservative, nor claims to be, but he seems committed to the fundamental right of free speech. So watching the left-wing website being taken over by Musk, he adds, is like watching the faculty at Harvard get replaced by professors who welcome independent thought and opposing views in their classrooms.

"On the most important thing for somebody that controls a communications network, which is what Twitter is," Bauer says, "he believes in the freedom of speech. And that is revolutionary."
