One of the fastest-growing providers of the abortion pills are businesses based in Mexico. They can secretly send the pills north where distributors then use the U.S. Postal Service to deliver them to women, including those who live in pro-life states.
Olivia Summers, an attorney with the American Center for Law and Justice, tells AFN the pro-life states – despite laws blocking the pills – can’t stop the deliveries because the mail system is a federal agency.
“What recourse the states have isn't quite clear right now,” she says.
As far as any legal help from the federal government, Summers says the Trump administration assisted states but good luck, she says, asking the Biden administration to do the same.
