Thousands of Palestinians in war-torn Gaza have took to the streets last week to call for an end to the 17 months of deadly fighting with Israel that has made living in Gaza a nightmare.
"Out, out, out!" they shouted. "Hamas get out!"
Though this is not the first sign of unrest among Palestinians, Olive Tree Ministries founder and director Jan Markell does not buy it.

"My hunch is it's pretty phony," she tells AFN. "Some of these same people were a part of the October 7th invasion into Israel, murdering Israelis … so you can bet they just would like their cities back from these terrorist thugs."
The problem, she says, is they agree with them.
"Their sentiment is the same as Hamas, and that is we have to destroy every single Israeli," Markell notes. "I think people need to look on this really skeptically."
She also does not think Donald Trump should use these protests as a reason to allow the Palestinians to repopulate a revitalized Gaza City.
"What's in their DNA is to destroy Israel," Markell asserts. "That's all they know. That's all they will ever know. Maybe they want to get rid of the terrorists, but then they're going to turn around and be terrorists. You cannot trust these people. You cannot. Their DNA is to kill."
The terrorist group has violently cracked down on previous protests, but Hamas is believed to be preoccupied with the resumed war.
