Oberlin College refuses to pay any of the $33 million the Ninth District Court of Appeals awarded to nearby Gibson's Bakery, a 135-year-old family business, after the school falsely accused the store of racism.
Rich Holt of Project 21 says it is another example of how elite liberals think they are above the law.
"Either they burn down our cities [or] they throw Molotov cocktails at police cars," he says. In this case, "the university is run by these people that are refusing to pay what courts have mandated. As far as I can tell, if the court system's going to let them get away with this, they should all be in jail."
Even though, as AFN reported earlier, the incident happened in 2016, when the owner's son confronted three black Oberlin students who were stealing wine from the store, some students still boycott the bakery, which is now barely staying financially afloat.
"These students are still out there protesting something that was clearly so wrong," Holt laments. "They're just so hellbent on destroying anybody that they want. It doesn't matter whether it's right or wrong or ethical at all."
Oberlin is appealing the decision to the Ohio Supreme Court after two lower courts rejected the college's attempts to avoid payment.
