Laurie Higgins, cultural issues writer for the Illinois Family Institute, says the groundwork for such an event was carefully set in place before Alfredo Isaac Zires, who is openly homosexual and moonlights as a drag performer, was allowed to prance through the school with another drag queen to the applause and cheers of students, parents, and staff in celebration of Cinco de Mayo.
"Before you can have them do a presentation or a parade in front of children dressed in drag, you have to have concluded that that behavior is moral," she explains. "And that is not the business of schools."
Higgins submits that the leftists' plan is to increasingly inject their agenda into every nook of the culture so that they can ultimately destroy the family and dismantle religious values.
"The only institutions that are stopping that movement in total control of the government is the family and religion," she points out."
Higgins adds that Zires' performance had nothing to do with Cinco de Mayo and everything to do with using children to further his social and political agenda.
