NJ university offers 'happiness' degree but life advice is free

A New Jersey-based university is offering a literal degree on the topic of happiness but a New Jerseyan says save your money by trusting God and loving your family.

It has been said money can’t buy happiness but Centenary University is offering a “Masters of Arts in Happiness Studies” starting in the fall of 2022.

The course will cost students $17,700 to obtain an advanced degree that explores the “implications of happiness for individuals, the workplace, and our broader society,” Fox News reported.

Centenary, located in Hackettstown, is a small private liberal arts campus with approximately 1,700 students.

New Jersey resident Joseph Connor, who leads We Win America, says the university’s announcement is a “very strange” idea for a college to pursue.

“And I wonder how they've brought religion and God into it,” he tells AFN, “because I think there is no happiness without that."

According to NJ.com, the 30-hour course does include topics such as religion and philosophy, as well as finance, business, literature and music.

"I think the happiest people are the ones who have a tight family and have a faith in God, and plow through their day and do the best they can,” he observes. “And they appreciate those little things and enjoy them. And that's where they get their happiness."
