The newly announced U.S. Dept of Education policy expands the definition of sex to include sexual orientation and gender identity, and the far-left bureacrats are actually reinstating a policy of the Obama administration, says Meridian Baldacci of the Family Policy Alliance.
"What ended up happening,” she recalls of that earlier fight, “was that 13 states actually sued the federal government over this, and that guidance ended up being enjoined so it was no longer in effect after that.”
One News Now reported last week the Dept of Education is warning public schools they could lose federal funding if they fail to comply with what amounts to an attack on common sense, since Title IX was passed in the 1970s to ensure high schools and colleges treated women's sports equally.
One News Now has also reported that female athletes are speaking fight in the courts and speaking out in the media, but the the new far-left administration is working closely with homosexual activists to implement and defend transgender-friendly policies.
Meridian and Family Policy are optimistic that a new legal fight, and a legal win, could be coming in the future following the Biden administration’s actions.
Baldacci says the public must get involved, too, because that sends a “clear message” that people are aware of what is happening and they won't stand for it.
“For people to get involved with local state organizations that are representing their voices is very important,” she says.
