Riley Gaines, a noted advocate for keeping biological men out of women’s sports, spoke at San Francisco State University this week.
During the event, a protestor in the audience disrupted her and cursed her repeatedly.
Video shows police physically picking him up and carrying him outside because he wouldn't get up. Attendees can be heard swearing as he’s taken away.
It's the second time a Gaines event at San Francisco State has been disrupted in this way. A 2023 appearance by Gaines at the school ended with her being barricaded into a room for her safety after she was physically assaulted.
As the protester who disrupted Gaines (shown below) was hoisted out the door, he yelled, "freedom of speech."
Frank Turek is an author and host of the “I Don’t Have Enough Faith to be an Atheist” podcast which airs on AFR.

"Well, sure, they say they're all about inclusion, tolerance, and diversity, but that only means if you agree with them. See, because inclusion, tolerance, and diversity doesn't mean what we think it means. It means if you don't agree with the Left on their new values, they will shut you down, they will cancel you, they will fire you like I've got fired back in 2011 for writing a book called 'Correct, Not Politically Correct,' which dealt with same sex marriage.
Turek confronted employers who fired him, Cisco, a software and telecommunications developer, and Bank of America, on his way out.
“I said, 'you're all about inclusion, tolerance and diversity. How is it I wasn't included, and I wasn't tolerated for holding a diverse view?' Of course, there's no answer to that because inclusion, tolerance, and diversity doesn't mean what it's supposed to mean. It means whatever new values they come up with, you have to agree with them or they won't tolerate you."
Turek said tolerance implies you disagree with someone, that you don't tolerate people you agree with. But they don't tolerate people who disagree with them. “Free speech doesn't mean that you have a hecklers veto like this one kid tried to have in that Riley Gaines presentation. Free speech doesn't mean you can interrupt and prevent somebody from giving a presentation in a public forum. That’s not what the First Amendment protects.”
The First Amendment also doesn’t protect speech that creates an uprising to overthrow the government.
“The First Amendment never protected that kind of speech, and there are some on the Left that are crying, 'Oh, we have these people who are supporting Hamas, they have free speech to support.' Oh sure, they can protest for Hamas, but as soon as they start instigating violence against Jews or opponents of Hamas, they've crossed the line. They no longer have a right to that kind of speech."
Momentum for normal
Turek said he doesn't know how the future looks for the political left, but he said he has seen sometimes political parties overplay their hands, and that from a Christian perspective, Satan normally overplays his hand.
“I mean, once you started mutilating children, and that was the policy of the Democrat Party, I saw, I think enough people had the common sense to say, 'OK, there's really something wrong with that'. And I think that was a tipping point. And hopefully it will be a tipping point that will swing people back to common sense, to natural law, the idea that, you know, we're designed by a designer.”
