Sidestepping parents tabbed as 'reckless' move by libraries

Public libraries in California's capital city are partnering with Planned Parenthood to install sexual resource cabinets that are available to a child of any age without parental consent.

The Sacramento Public Library system posts on its health literacy page that because people's health "matters," it is providing free "sexual health education cabinets" containing  condoms, lubricants, pregnancy tests, and the like at several of its libraries. The products are provided in partnership with Planned Parenthood Mar Monte, which operates almost three dozen centers in mid-California and Nevada. The cabinets reportedly are located where they are accessible to library visitors, including children.

Greg Burt, vice president of California Family Council, argues the library system is undermining the rights of parents by putting sexual material in the hands of children as young as four or five. "Anyone can have access. No parental knowledge or supervision is required," he tells AFN.

Burt contends public libraries shouldn't be able to bypass state laws that give parents the option to review sex-ed material in public schools and opt their children out of lessons.

According to the family advocate, the cabinets and their contents not only facilitate leftists seeking to sexualize youngsters as early as possible, but sexual predators also take advantage of such schemes.

"There are predators out there all the time who are grooming little kids," he warns. "It starts with them introducing sexual material, pornography, and other graphic sexual information to the child to get the child used to the whole idea."

According to Fox News, the resource cabinets have been placed in at least 12 of the system's library locations.

"… Sacramento Public Library [needs] to end this reckless partnership with Planned Parenthood and restore trust with the families they serve," Burt states.
