Fueled by the belief Elon Musk is a danger to the country, the attacks to date include keying a Tesla CyberTruck in New Hampshire and smearing dog poo on a Cybertruck in New Jersey. The vandal in New Hampshire was easily found, likely thanks to his bright orange pants, but the New Jersey vandal was hidden behind a mask and hoodie.
The more popular target, and mode of vandalism, is running a key alongside a Tesla car that has triggered the assailant. Those acts have been documented so far in Seattle, Washington; Wichita, Kansas; Fort Collins, Colorado; San Diego, California; San Jose, California; Doylestown, Pennsylvania; Oahu, Hawaii; and at the Dallas International Airport.
All of those vandals have been caught in the act because 360-degree camera coverage comes standard on all Tesla models. That feature called “Sentry Mode” is why X account “Libs of Tiktok” is sharing footage of the Tesla-keying vandals to its 4.3 million followers.
Thanks to the popularity of X, which itself is owned by Musk, X users are acting like online detectives sharing the Sentry Mode footage. In the Fort Collins incident, for example, Libs reported that alleged culprit is Brandon Velez. He is charged with criminal mischief for drawing a swastika, or attempting to, on a Tesla door.
Such incidents, which are now widespread, inspired a new version of the online meme (pictured below) featuring a "Simpson's" character.
The indirect target of the vandalism is Musk, who angered the Far Left when he joined the Trump administration to lead its Department of Government Efficiency. Now at approximately 70 days into Trump’s term, Musk and DOGE have been given permission to oversee a never-before-seen downsizing of the federal government and its 3 million workers.
Abigail Gill, who owns the Tesla car that was vandalized in Wichita, told Fox News the estimated repair to her vehicle is $7,000. She said it’s sad people are targeting Tesla owners, who are not the real target of the vandalism.
“It’s not hurting Elon at all,” she said. “It’s just hurting the families that are getting such valuable things damaged.”
The alleged vandal of Gill's car has been arrested by police.
Even though some acts of vandalism might be a felony, none of them compares to the March 18 firebombing of a Tesla dealership in Las Vegas. Authorities allege the man behind that attack is Paul Kim, 36, who is facing 15 counts for allegedly tossing Molotov Cocktails at a Tesla service center and setting five cars ablaze. Authorities say he even used a rifle to take out the security cameras.
Kim, whose social media shows him to be a Communist and a Hamas supporter, sprayed “Resist” on the building.
At a press conference after Kim’s arrest, FBI Special Agent Spencer Evans warned other wannabe revolutionaries they are not the Resistance.
“The self-righteous mob that’s cheering you on today to commit acts of violence on their behalf,” Evans warned, “will leave you high and dry and forget about you tomorrow.”
That self-righteous mob might include late-night host Jimmy Kimmel, who made a joke about the vandalism with a dramatic pause and a grin during his monologue.
“He’s such an unfunny jerk,” Musk wrote on X.
When a Fox News correspondent caught up with Rep. Nancy Pelosi, she was asked to comment about the violence at the Tesla dealerships.
"I'm so sorry. I'm a little bit late here," she replied.
