A Christian girls' group unapologetically celebrated life during the month of October but its president says the girls do it throughout the year, too.

Since the month of October is “Respect Life Month,” American Heritage Girls president Patti Garabay says the occasion is a good reason to compliment the girls for serving and helping others.

“Particularly the girls love to serve pregnancy care centers and help those moms in those situations,” Garaby says. “Where they can encourage them to keep their baby, or be able to give that baby up for adoption, to maintain that life is precious and that it comes from our heavenly Father.”

The girls also collect supplies such as baby food and diapers to stock shelves at pregnancy centers.

American Heritage Girls offers a “Respect Life” patch for girls who participate.

During the current year, the scouting program followed the theme “Woven” which Garabay says she enjoyed because of its pro-life theme.

“It fits so very well into the ‘respect life’ kind of concept where we are each woven in our mother's womb for a certain purpose on purpose,” she tells AFN.
