National Center on Sexual Exploitation has had major success shutting down porn sites including affiliates of the largest distributor, Porn Hub, and now the organization is focusing on another website, Only Fans.
National Center spokeswoman Lina Nealon says the website is a subscriber-based platform, which allows women to make money in pornography, but that means there are likely minors on the website, too.
“And we're seeing a growth and indicators of sex trafficking of both children and adults,” Nealon warns.
National Center says that is why authorities across the country are taking notice of Only Fans, which the watchdog group alleges is allowing child abuse and sex trafficking. Those claims dogged Porn Hub, too, and that billion-dollar business is being sued by women who say they were exploited.
All totaled, 101 members of Congress have signed a letter to the U.S. Justice Dept. asking it to investigate, and Nealon says National Center is not aware the federal agency has taken any action yet.
"As far as we know," she says, "not enough is being done."
