Trail Life USA was established in 2014 after the Boy Scouts began allowing homosexuals and then girls as members and leaders. Mark Hancock, who heads the Christian alternative outdoors organization, tells One News Now Trail Life USA has experienced a growth rate of 70% compared to the same period last year.
"Just in the last couple days we've had 75 folks reach out to say they are interested in starting a troop," Hancock shares. "Since the beginning of the year we've had 80 new troops, and each one of those troops represents an average of about 40 boys and adults working out of a church somewhere around the United States. So it's just been explosive for us in terms of what we've seen in the past."
In fact, 100 potential troops are currently in the chartering process. 99% of the troops that are formed do so through local churches.
"Trail Life USA is unapologetically Christian," Hancock declares. "We're not just an outdoor organization having a Christian experience; we are at our core a Christ-centered Christian ministry that uses the outdoors to mentor young men."
Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, 20,000 people recently took part in Trail Life USA's national Backyard Concert and Campout. An additional 15,000 watched the broadcast.
