Thousands of people are expected at the national March for Life this Friday. AFN explains that some of them will be pro-life OB/GYNs.

January 23rd marches closer to the celebration of the 2026 March for Life. The event started as a way to commemorate the anniversary of Roe v. Wade with a peaceful protest and march in Washington, D.C. This year, the theme of the 53rd annual event is "Life is a Gift," reported AFN. The purpose is to “offer a fresh vision, inviting all people to rediscover the beauty, goodness, and joy of life itself.”

March for Life recently posted on X a confirmation of the speakers that will attend this year. The list include Vice President J.D. Vance, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana), and Representative Chris Smith (R-New Jersey).

Many groups are attending the march such as the American Association of Pro-Life OBGYNs (AAPLOG), which represents approximately 8,000 pro-life medical professionals across the country. Dr. Christina Francis, CEO of AAPLOG, said that the organization is "very excited to be at the national march," where they will join other pro-life people in celebrating the fact that all life is a gift.

"We, as physicians, always say that, when we are caring for a pregnant woman, we're caring for two patients at once. So, we'll be there to represent the care that we provide to both of our patients, both moms and babies," says Francis. "It's always a very encouraging time to gather with other people who are there to defend the dignity and the beauty of each and every life."

While the pro-life movement has faced some frustrations, Francis said that this "will be a very good time to encourage one another" and meet with lawmakers.

"While we're there, we will be meeting with members of Congress and other partner groups to discuss, really, the importance of all of us banding together to raise awareness, specifically of the dangers of these abortion drugs," states Francis.
