It used to be that support for Israel was the entrance fee for anyone wanting to hold political office in New York City. As of Friday afternoon, The Times shows that the self-described anti-Zionist Zohran Mamdani has an 18-point lead over his closest challenger, Andrew Cuomo.
Dr. Mike Evans, founder of Friends of Zion, says something has definitely changed in Gotham. He recently wrote on AFN that anti-Zionism is the new face of antisemitism.
“The celebrations over Hamas after October 7th happened in New York City. They weren't protesting Hamas. They were celebrating Hamas, and they were protesting the Jews,” states Evans.
New numbers from Patriot Polling might explain it. Among American-born New Yorkers, Cuomo leads Mamdani 40-31. Among foreign-born New Yorkers, he trails 24-62. If it wants a pro-Jewish mayor, New York City has done itself no favors by bringing in about a quarter of its immigrant population in the last ten years.
“We're in the middle of an ideological war, and thank God for Donald Trump, because he's standing up to it,” states Evans. “It's very serious, this ideological war. Demons don't clear customs.”
Evans says that the battle for a European-style Muslim takeover in New York City – and the rest of the country – is well funded.
“The family-owned corporations called countries in the Middle East are flushing tens of billions of dollars into this country to poison it,” informs Evans.
He says that it's like the boiling frog syndrome. America is buying into it and doesn't even realize it.
“America needs a great awakening because we're already having a rude one,” states Evans.
