On Friday, the Senate finally confirmed former Congressman Mike Waltz as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations in time for the U.N. General Assembly meeting that begins this week, reports Politico. The Senate, however, did not vote to designate him as the U.S. representative to the General Assembly, making it unclear if that will hinder his role as he participates.
One of the top issues that the meeting will cover is Israel's war against Hamas. Unfortunately, the General Assembly is packed with countries that are hostile to Israel.
For example, the U.N. contains members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which was formed in 1969. As the second largest intergovernmental organization after the U.N, it contains 57 member states across four continents that serve as the voice of the Muslim nations.
Former Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann now serves as dean of the Robertson School of Government at Regent University.

"All the nations of the world are intervening, and they're putting it up for a vote that Israel should have to get rid of some of its land. That's absolutely insane because the U.N. is dominated by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. So, the bulk of the nations that are part of the U.N. are Islamic nations that want to see Israel defeated," explains Bachmann.
Bachmann comments that it is sad to see western nations lining up with the Islamic bloc.
"There's been such unprecedented historic immigration of Muslims into Western nations, and that has politically pushed those nations to go along with what the original Muslim nations wanted to do," says Bachmann. "The bottom line is that this is more jihad at the United Nations for the purpose of destroying and annihilating the Jewish state and the Jewish people."
