It seems Democrats in Washington are doing everything in their power to cram a stick in the spokes of the Trump administration as it tries to get things done for the American people. There are almost 100 lower-level nominations that need a Senate vote so they can get to work.
Within in the first 100 days of his presidency, Trump made almost 300 nominations and has more nominations than any other modern president within the first 200 days. However, that has not translated to confirmations as Trump’s nominees now have the longest average confirmation delay on record since the 200-day mark of this current term.
American Family Association (AFA)Vice-President Walker Wildmon says Senate Democrats are using old, arcane rules to keep votes from being taken.
“These rules allow the minority party to delay and block various nominees and various votes. The Democrats are quite literally using ‘delay and stall’ tactics on every single nominee of President Trump's,” says Wildmon.
Specifically, Democrats are invoking what's called the 30-hour-rule on each nominee, so they're stacking up like planes in a holding pattern on a busy day at O'Hare Airport in Chicago.

“They invoke the rule, and then the Senate can't consider a nominee for another 30 hours, even though the nominee has enough votes,” Wildmon explains.
But Wildmon says that, for at least the first two years of President Trump's second term, Republicans are in the majority. They control the rules, and all it takes is 51 votes to change the rules.
“We're asking John Thune to use every rule and tool at his disposal to speed up the nomination process,” states Wildmon.
He's asking the people to call their Senator, regardless of their party, and ask them to confirm Trump's nominees in short order.
