After seeing the latest polling for the Democratic Party, a conservative political activist says Marxist-embracing Democrats are struggling to appeal to normal voters but he also warns the Republican Party shouldn’t slow down and take a rest.

Citing its own poll, The Wall Street Journal reports the Democratic Party has “eroded” to its lowest point in three decades. That came after a Journal survey shows 63% of voters hold an unfavorable view of the Democratic Party.

The new Wall Street Journal poll got noticed by CNN data analyst Harry Enten. Known for his live segments, he attempted to describe just how bad a minus-30 favorability rating is for the political party.

“Whoa, woof,” he reacted. “I mean, my god.”

Enten displayed the Journal polling beside a CNN poll that similarly found Democrats with a minus-26 favorability among voters.

Enten and CNN host Jessica Dean also pointed out independent voters, known for swinging elections, have a 19% favorable rating of the Democratic Party.

The Wall Street Journal polled 1,500 registered voters July 16-20.

Taylor, Dr. Jameson (AFA Action) Taylor

Reacting to the polling, Jameson Taylor of AFA Action says voters are watching the Democratic Party go through a “fundamental transformation” and they’re not happy at the change.

“Really, what's happening is that the normal, crazy Democrat solutions have failed. This is what always happens with socialism,” he observes. “So the Left is doing what they always do, which is to offer more craziness.”

The candidacy of Zohran Mamdani (pictured below), the New York City mayoral candidate, is an example of that transformation taking place, Taylor suggests. The self-described Democratic Socialist, who won the Democrat primary June 1, wants government-run grocery stores, a city-mandated rent freeze, and higher property taxes in white-majority neighborhoods.

Mamdani, whose own family is wealthy, has also been outed by the Right for a 2021 interview about socialism in which he eagerly describes the “end goal of seizing the means of production.”

Back in The Wall Street Journal polling, voters also said they would support a Democrat for Congress over a Republican 46% to 43%.

That poll question, which is obviously promising to Democrats, got noticed by MSNBC, the liberal news outlet. An article there called it a promising sign for Democrats in the midterms.

"Republicans, in other words, getting their hopes up because of the Democrats’ poor standing should probably tweak their expectations accordingly," the article concludes.

Taylor similarly warns that Democrats are experiencing low polling but Republicans are in danger of turning off voters, too, if the GOP turns “complacent” as the 2026 midterms approach.

“Yeah, Congress passed the One Big Beautiful Bill,” Taylor says. “Great, good stuff in there. But it's time to move on.”
