Ellis: Dems can thank Team Trump for bungling Epstein file PR

A conservative radio host and public policy analyst contends the Democrats can use the Jeffrey Epstein saga to make political hay in next year's midterms.

President Donald Trump recently slammed his own supporters as being "stupid people" for falling for what he calls the Epstein "hoax." The President is trying to clamp down on criticism over records in Jeffrey Epstein's sex-trafficking investigation, saying "Some stupid Republicans and foolish Republicans are using a Democratic playbook."

Jenna Ellis hosts a weekday morning program on American Family Radio. She thinks U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi messed up the public relations aspect of this story. She advises Bondi to confirm the court system is preventing the files from being released, then explain publicly that that's the case.

Ellis, Jenna Ellis

"If it's really a matter of it being under court seal, simply come forward and [explain] I got a little ahead of myself, I've reviewed the files on the web to do that as the Attorney General – but I don't have the authority to actually make this release. We're going to request the court and we're going to leave it up to a judge."

Ellis considers it unfortunate this gives the Democrats something to run on in its attempt next year to regain one or both of the houses of Congress.

"It gives them [some] talking points – What are you hiding? You haven't made your promises. The MAGA is fracturing and is disillusioned."

She finds it an "unfortunate reality" that the Trump administration didn't handle the public relations portion of the Epstein matter more carefully, thereby handing Democrats an issue to run on in the 2026 midterms.
