Dirty hands for Brennan, Comey in Russiagate? Probably, attorney says

Two high-ranking former Obama officials are under investigation for their part in the Russiagate scandal. A constitutional lawyer says there's probably merit to the charges.

Former CIA director John Brennan (shown above) and former FBI director James Comey (below and right) are under Justice Department scrutiny for leading the charge to discredit first candidate, then President Donald Trump with allegations they allegedly knew to be false. Constitutional attorney Abraham Hamilton III told the Today's Issues crew on American Family Radio (AFR) the DOJ is not revealing specific charges, but has said it involves promoting the so-called Steele Dossier.

The Steele Dossier was a collection of intelligence reports compiled in 2016 by Christopher Steele, a former British spy, alleging ties between Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign and the Russian government.

It included salacious and unverified claims, many of which have been widely discredited or remain unproven.

Though there were a series of cut-outs, its original funding source was Hillary Clinton’s campaign.

“The CIA has come out and said that John Brennan was, in particular, the major player from the intelligence community working behind the scenes to include the Steele Dossier into what eventually became the Russia Hoax, the Russiagate investigation,” Hamilton said.

The allegations against Comey are not as clear, but Hamilton suspects he's at least been charged with lying to Congress.

“I do, because at a minimum, he has publicly perjured himself if the evidence is substantiated,” Hamilton says.

He says left uncharged, so far, is the third leader of the Russiagate conspiracy, Hillary Clinton, whose campaign solicited and organized the false claims against her political opponent, Donald Trump. Host Fred Jackson asked Hamilton about her.

Clinton’s status could be impacted by how the investigation unfolds, Hamilton said.

“Many people think her hands are as dirty as the other two. And count me in that 'many other people' category,” Jackson said.

“This is where you have possibility versus likelihood. So, it is possible, but concerning the likelihood, I can't really say how likely it is depending on what evidence is uncovered in the formal investigation of the two who have already been announced,” Hamilton said.
