Bauer: Regardless of charges, guilty verdict not likely for Brennan, Comey

A conservative activist is skeptical that two former Obama officials can be found guilty in ultra-liberal Washington, D.C. – even if the charge if lying under oath.

The Justice Department has announced it is launching a criminal investigation into potential wrongdoing by former CIA Director John Brennan and former FBI Director James Comey (shown above) related to the Trump-Russia probe, including allegedly making false statements to Congress.

The White House wants the two Obama intel officials held accountable for their role in peddling the 2016 Russia hoax, including the infamous Steele Dossier.

The Steele Dossier was a collection of intelligence reports compiled in 2016 by Christopher Steele, a former British spy, alleging ties between Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign and the Russian government.

It included salacious and unverified claims, many of which have been widely discredited or remain unproven.

Though there were a series of cut-outs, its original funding source was Hillary Clinton’s campaign.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt released a statement saying, "Those who engaged in this political scandal must be held accountable for the fraud they committed against President Trump and the lies they told to the American people."

"I'm pleased about the news of the investigation. I hope it's successful, but I know how many cards the Deep State has. And one of the problems will be that if evidence is presented to a grand jury, where will that grand jury sit?"

Therein lies the problem, Bauer says.

"Would it be in Washington, DC or in the liberal suburbs of Washington? If there's a trial, where will that jury be from? These are left-wing jurisdictions that are very hesitant to find left-wing political figures guilty of anything."
