Some believe Trump won't follow through on threats to Iran, others say think again

A conservative activist says that he can't imagine any tyrant in the world thinking that President Donald Trump is soft and that he won’t follow through on his word to help the people of Iran.

Much has been made of Trump’s recent social media message to the beleaguered freedom protestors in Iran that "help is on the way." According to AFN, the USS Abraham Lincoln, a U.S. supercarrier, is steaming to the Middle East as numerous news sources report that military assets are being staged to give the commander in chief an overwhelming attack force.

U.S. Army Lt. Col. Darin Gaub even believes that the U.S. is possibly ready to strike Iran unilaterally, reported AFN. His reasoning is that Israel is unable to do so themselves because of their tenuous relationships in the region, which could result in negative consequences.

However, the president has been sending mixed signals. He told reporters that he trusted Iran's leaders when they said the street killings had stopped, which prompted some to suggest that Trump is backtracking from his promise to help.

Gary Bauer is chairman of the Campaign for Working Families and on the board of Christians United for Israel.

"I just can't imagine any tyrant in the world thinking that Donald Trump is soft and that he won’t follow through on his word. I think those are the kind of talking points we hear from people like the Democratic leaders in the House and Senate and the media," says Bauer.

Bauer comments that Trump follows a policy of peace through strength.

"Sometimes the strength is rhetorical, but it's followed up enough times without actual military action. There's no chance in the world that a tyrant would think that he's going to be able to do something aggressive and hurting us or others because Donald Trump won't follow up on his word," states Bauer.

Bauer also points out that nobody knows what Trump is going to do next.

"He keeps them guessing all the time, which is why he has been so effective in rolling back the enemies of the United States," says Bauer.
