The Texas Faith Fest is coming to Austin, Texas, this weekend. It is scheduled for this coming Friday and Saturday, September 26-27, at Great Hills Baptist Church in Northwest Austin, Texas. It lasts from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days.
AFN connected with Jonathan Covey, policy director for Texas Values, which is the host of the event. He said this will be the eighth annual Faith Fest.
"It's the largest event of its kind in Texas featuring national, statewide, and also local leaders on issues of faith and pro-family issues and freedom issues," says Covey.
Speakers will delve into all kinds of policy issues on various topics.
"We feature over 30 different speakers over the course of two days. Our lead keynote is Governor Greg Abbott, and he'll be giving the lead keynote on Friday. Then we'll have a number of other folks: Riley Gaines, the NCAA swimming champion; Abby Johnson, pro-life leader; Chloe Cole, the de-transitioner…” lists Covey.
Other guest speakers include people from the Texas-state government, such as Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham, Senator Mayes Middleton, and Senator Angela Paxton.

Covey also mentioned that what he's particularly looking forward to is a panel they're planning called Gen Z and the Charlie Kirk effect.
"It’s going to talk about courage for your faith and how Gen Z and the newer generation coming up can do that and how they can be effective in that space,” explains Covey. “This is going to be a very exciting panel, but there’s just so many good things. It's going to be one of the most exciting conferences we've ever put on."
Covey said that security will be tighter this year with the national conversation following the killing of Charlie Kirk in addition to the fact that many elected officials are supposed to be there.
One can register at the Texas Faith Fest website. General admission is forty dollars.
