Bibles-for-teens ministry sets ambitious goal to mark 25 years

An evangelism ministry is celebrating 25 years of Bible giveaways to teens with an ambitious goal: To give away 65,000 of its famous “Truth for Youth” Bibles. That goal, however, requires lots of participating teens.

Each year, in August, Louisiana-based ministry Revival Fires International partners with the American Family Association to promote “Truth for Youth Week” on American Family Radio.

With a spiritually lost teenager in mind, the Truth for Youth Bible includes the New Testament, comics written for teenagers on hard-hitting topics, and an easy-to-understand explanation of the gospel and salvation.

The unique comics, which are what set the Bible apart, tackle subjects such as suicide, sex, homosexuality, and drugs and alcohol.

Revival Fires president Tim Todd told American Family Radio the goal is a big one because it requires teenagers, with a heart for their friends and classmates, to partner with the ministry.

“One Bible, per teenager, per household,” he said.

The next printing of the Truth for Youth Bible will include a comic called "Danger Deception" that tackles transgender ideology.

Revival Fires partnered with Kingstone Studios and its founder, Art Ayris, to produce the new section.

Todd, Tim (evangelist) Todd

Todd, 63, an ordained Assembly of God minister, began his evangelism ministry 38 years ago. The idea for distributing the Bible in schools began in – of all places – post-Cold War Russia. Todd was there distributing Bibles in schools, he says, when the country’s Minister of Education asked how many Bibles the evangelist has passed out in U.S. schools.

“And I had to tell him we can’t do that in our schools because America kicked God out of our schools,” Todd recalls.

When he returned to the States, Todd was determined to get the Word of God in public schools. He knew students were allowed to do so without being stopped or punished.

That is why each Truth for Youth Bible contains legal information to let teens know, and defend, their legal right to share the Bible during non-instructional time.
