White House exposes liberal media for spreading false information

The White House is picking one media story a week to highlight misleading or biased news coverage. AFN reports that the effort even has its own page on the official White House website.

The banner for the White House’s  Media Offender of the Week reads “Misleading. Biased. Exposed.” before giving extensive detail on certain news outlets and their false information, according to News Busters. The webpage informs of the offense committed, the real truth, sources that back up the truth, and the names of the outlets and reporters responsible for the misinformation. The White House even has an “Offender Hall of Shame,” listing The Washington Post, CBS News, CNN, MSNBC as exposed.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt says that the Media Offender of the Week is meant to push back against all the fake news and flat-out lies coming from the mainstream media.

Leavitt, Karoline (WH press sec'y) Leavitt

“It goes to our original promise on day one to hold the media accountable,” explains Leavitt.

Exhibit number one was a story that Leavitt got from the pages of the New York Times titled “Shorter Days, Signs of Fatigue” about the daily schedule of President Donald Trump.

“That took about one-third of the president's daily calendar and his daily schedule and said that he's doing less than he did in his first term or he might not be fit for the job,” informs Leavitt.

Leavitt says that The Grey Lady was nowhere near as critical about President Joe Biden.

“Biden is doing 100% fine after tripping while boarding Air Force One. Same outlet, same reporter,”  states Leavitt.

She says that she will have no problems finding a story a week.

“The fake news that we see pumped out of this building on a day-to-day basis — it's honestly overwhelming to keep up with it all,” states Leavitt.

The current offenders of this week are The Boston Globe, CBS News, and The Independent for spreading misinformation about Trump calling for the “execution” of Members of Congress. However, he is actually calling for them to be held accountable for encouraging sedition.

Graham, Tim (MRC) Graham

Tim Graham is the director of media analysis of Media Research Center (MRC) and executive editor or NewsBusters. He says that, if Leavitt needs any help filling the quota, MRC is glad to lend a hand.

“It's a good thing for the president to call out bad reporting. At NewsBusters, we're posting about 15-20 articles a day on what we think are episodes of bad reporting,” comments Graham.
